A Proven Leader for Georgia’s 13th District
Senator Emanuel D. Jones has dedicated nearly two decades to serving the people of Georgia in the State Senate, where he has been a steadfast advocate for economic development, education, social justice, and public safety. Since taking office in 2005, he has championed legislation focused on criminal justice reform, voting rights, and economic empowerment for underserved communities.

As the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Advisory Council, Senator Jones has played a pivotal role in advancing civil rights initiatives and preserving Dr. King’s legacy. Additionally, as a former Chairman of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, the largest Black caucus in the nation, he has worked tirelessly to promote policies that uplift marginalized communities and ensure equitable opportunities for all.

Beyond his legislative work, Senator Jones is a successful businessman with over 30 years of experience in the private sector. As the founder and CEO of Legacy Automotive Group, he has built a thriving enterprise that has created jobs and opportunities in Georgia. His strong business acumen has guided his approach to policy-making, ensuring that economic growth benefits all citizens, not just a select few. His business experience includes leadership roles with Ford Automotive Minority Dealers Operations and serving as a Product Engineer at IBM, further showcasing his ability to drive innovation and success in both corporate and entrepreneurial settings.

A proud graduate of West Fulton High School, where he was valedictorian, Senator Jones continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a degree in engineering, and later obtained his MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Senator Jones also has a strong history of community and civic leadership. He is a Deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church and has served as Past Chairman of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce and Past Finance Chair of Piedmont Henry Hospital. He is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., demonstrating his commitment to mentorship and service.

His dedication to service extends to the military, where he proudly served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, attaining the rank of Captain. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant and completed both the Engineer Officer Basic Course and the Engineer Officer Advanced Course.

He is the proud father of three adult children: Emanuel, Elam, and Emani.

Now, he’s ready to bring his leadership, experience, and commitment to progress to Washington as the next U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District. With a vision for a stronger, more prosperous future, Senator Emanuel D. Jones is the champion Georgia needs in Congress.
